Upon arrival, both refugees and asylees are fully authorized to work in the United States by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Having left behind their homes, personal property, and former jobs, they diligently seek opportunities to become self-sufficient and support their families. Our Employment Services help refugees and asylees find employment through a range of services, including customized job development and placement, pre-employment counseling, life skills training, employment up-grade and follow-up services, vocational training, and recertification assistance. Throughout the process, refugees have access to interpreter services and, as needed, assistance in mediating their work situations and employer-employee relations. Alliance’s Employment Services Staff are constantly building relationships with local businesses to expand our clients’ network of potential employers.
