The Community Cloth Program Manager, Full-Time Exempt

Position Title: The Community Cloth Program Manager, Full-Time Exempt
Reports to: Asset Building Manager
Location: Gulfton and Greater Houston Area
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm; some evenings and weekends required for events.

The Community Cloth is seeking a compassionate, detail orientated individual with a focus on excellent client and customer service, as well as strong administrative and communication skills for the position of Program Manager for The Community Cloth, a microenterprise empowering refugee women artisans in Houston, supporting them in creating and selling handmade, indigenous arts and crafts. The position reports to the Alliance for Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) Asset Building Manager.

Execute planning, supporting, and implementing the program and organizational strategy through the following key functions:

  • Effectively manage program projects to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Maintain and cultivate positive relationships with artisans, key stakeholders, customers, and volunteers through email, social media, and in-person meetings/presentations.
  • Assist in training and sustain volunteer relationships
  • Provide significant administrative support, including but not limited to, entering client and personnel data, writing correspondence such as newsletters and program updates, and other administrative duties as necessary
  • Be trained in and support financial management functions
  • Support the clients, staff and volunteers in carrying out client service functions. These include, but are not limited to, monthly trainings, providing guidance on product development, communicating program updates, attending and facilitating client meeting/trainings, and other functions as needed
  • Coordinate additional client services with the Financial Opportunity Center and Adult Education Department at AMCS
  • Travel to and from multiple citywide client sites and sales events, transporting product and supplies


  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, client email and internet research proficiency
  • Knowledge of effective social media marketing
  • Reliable transportation, driver’s license with clean record and insurance
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
  • BA/BS degree preferred, or 5+ years’ experience in clothing retail management and customer service
  • Multilingual skills a plus
