Thank You for Supporting our Work
There are many ways to support the work of the Alliance, and every contribution you make helps refugee families achieve self-sufficiency. We hope you will investigate the options below and make the contribution that is right for you. If you are interested in contributing as a volunteer or mentor, please email Nnena Amugo. For financial contributions, you may donate with a credit card through the "Just Give" or "PayPal" secure site, or you can speak with Ayele Michael at extension 157.
Sponsor a Family
We offer the opportunity to sponsor a refugee family with regular contributions. Your donation will create an emergency cash assistance fund which can pay rent, utilities, or necessities like car seats for newborns. This fund is an immense help when families face stressful situations, and it helps them to get through the difficult time before they can fully support themselves with their own earnings. In return you will receive the family's history and regular updates on their progress.
The sponsorship is $25/month or $300/year.
In-kind donations are very important to the Alliance. Every refugee family that arrives in Houston requires basic furnishings including beds, mattresses, bath and kitchen supplies, and a table where they can share their meals, and chairs. In addition to providing supplies to refugees and reducing our expenses in this area, these contributions do double-duty as agency matching funds for Federal grants. We are happy to arrange for pick-up.
The Alliance is at a critical juncture in the agency’s development with a growing number of clients and increasingly complex administrative and service demands. Today we offer more educational programming and training than ever before, and more comprehensive immigration assistance. While expanding our services, we are working to improve the quality of our office space and decrease energy usage. We need your support as we shift to a larger scale of operations.
Donations are tax deductible.
